Monday night, Feb. 14, the 2022- 2023 negotiated agreement with the Auburn Education Association (AEA) was ratified by the Auburn Public Schools (APS) Board of Education.

Auburn will have a new mayor and one new City Council representative in late 2022. Peru is assured of one new City Council member. There will be new faces on the Johnson-Brock Public Schools Board of Education.
NEBRASKA GOVERNOR Pete Ricketts (left) and John McClure, Executive Vice President of External Affairs & General Counsel with Nebraska Public Power District were among those speaking during a Feb. 18 “Water & Taxes” Town Hall meeting at the Lewis & Clark Visitors Center near Nebraska City. Governor Ricketts discussed his legislative priorities to protect and develop the state’s water resources, and to deliver much-needed tax relief to Nebraskans. Ricketts and others, including McClure, remarked about the importance of taking action to prevent a drastic reduction in the amount of South Platte River water flowing into Nebraska from Colorado. The South Platte River is an essential source of water for agricultural irrigation in Nebraska, and it supplies Platte River communities with drinking water. Wednesday, Feb. 16, the Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) approved incorporating a City of Peru property lease with the Peru water purchase agreement.
