Almost an entire month after they played their first set of volleyball in the fall 2022 season, the Lady Eagles finally got to play on their home court against Freeman on Thursday, September 22. On the first of September, the Eagles defeated the Falcons two sets to one in the Freeman tournament.
The Bulldog volleyball team dropped three matches this past week to HTRS, Palmyra, and Johnson County Central. The Bulldogs, fell to 2-11 on the season after the losses.
Johnson-Brock football not only stayed unbeaten after their Friday, September 16 game against HTRS, but added another convincing blowout to their resume with a 52-8 victory over the Titans on homecoming night. With their record now sitting at 4-0, the Eagles were recognized by the Lincoln daily paper as a top 10 team in class D2.
Auburn softball (8-8) was outhit by Omaha Westview 12-4 Tuesday, September 13 in a 14-4 loss to the Wolverines (5-8) in Auburn.
Auburn Middle School cross country is off to a great start with their 2022-2023 Season. We are halfway through the season and are getting stronger at each meet. Middle School girl runners include Olivia Crotty, Rylee Dotson, Jenna Hanley, Hadley Mazzulla, and Kensley Snodgrass. Middle school boys runners include Zack Haynes, Fenix Allgood, and Nash Crotty. The biggest highlight so far this year has been the girls winning the Auburn Meet. The team most recently competed at the Bennington Invitational and the girls placing in the top 20 including Olivia Crotty (4th), Rylee Dotson (12th), Kensley Snodgrass (16th), and Hadley Mazzula (20th). Boys placing in the top 20 at Bennington include Zack Haynes (15th) and Nash Crotty (18th). The meets to come include Nebraska City on September 22, Syracuse on September 30, ECNC at Auburn on October 4, and middle school state in Omaha on October 8th.
