PERFORMING THE national anthem before a recent Auburn High School football game is the Pride of Auburn Bulldog Marching Band. Saturday, Oct. 9, the band earned a Division I Superior rating at the Bennington Marching Competition. The color guard was presented the Outstanding Color Guard Award. Auburn softball played their sub district tournament in Auburn on Monday, October 4. Along with the Bulldogs, Falls City, Weeping Water, Fort Calhoun, and Syracuse all played to qualify for a district final. The Bulldogs received the #1 seed in the subdistrict tournament as well as a first round bye.
On Friday, October 8, the Eagles hosted Diller-Odell in Johnson on homecoming night. The Eagles entered the contest 4-2 compared to Diller-Odell’s 1-5 record. Before the homecoming contest, the Eagles were led in rushing by quarterback Caleb Fossenbarger with 436 yards on the ground along with 668 yards passing on the season. Nic Parriott is the top receiver for the Eagles with 198 yards off catches.
Auburn’s football team traveled to Nebraska City to play the Pioneers on Friday, October 8. Both teams entered the contest with a 4-2 record.
