County Vocalists Will Present Christmas Music on Dec. 19th

THROUGHOUT THE past couple of months, singers from throughout Nemaha County have been rehearsing Christmas selections weekly preparing for the Sunday, Dec. 19 Nemaha County Area Community Choir. The performance is scheduled at 2 p.m. at Auburn Christian Church. Sunday afternoon, Dec. 12, the vocalists performed along the south side of the Nemaha County Courthouse Grounds during the Hometown Christmas celebration. Diane Hughes is director. District 29 Elementary Students Presented Christmas Concert

THE AUBURN High School gymnasium was filled with the sounds of Christmas music Tuesday night, Dec. 7. Kourtney Martin directed back-to-back-to-back performances by singers from kindergarten through fifth grades. In all photos, the youngsters are listed with their respective teachers. Opening the show were kindergarteners and first graders with renditions of If You Can’t Wait For Christmas; Snow is Falling Today; I Want to Be an Elf and North Pole Rock ’n’ Roll.

AUBURN VOLUNTEER Fire Department and Rescue Squad members said goodbye to one of their own on December 6th as they escorted longtime member Dale Thomas to his final resting place at Sheridan West Cemetery. Thomas, who died December 1, 2021, at age 61, served as Auburn Fire Chief and Assistant Chief for over 20 years.
