The Johnson-Brock Eagles speech team had four medalists Friday, March 4 at the Class C2-1 district meet. It took place at Elmwood-Murdock High School.
The Climatological Winter averaged 2.3 degrees above normal. Due to the higher than normal amount of sunny days the overnight lows averaged 0.5 degrees below normal with daytime highs at 5.1 degrees above normal. There were 24 days with below freezing maximums, five less than normal. Below freezing minimums totaled 86, which is 14 more than normal. There were 12 subzero minimums, normal is 10. The coldest reading of the winter was -11 on Jan 2nd.
Governor Pete Ricketts hosted Feb. 18 “Water & Taxes” town halls in Kearney, Nebraska City, and Norfolk. At the sessions, Gov. Ricketts discussed his legislative priorities to protect and develop the state’s water resources and to deliver much-needed tax relief to Nebraskans.
