The Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles rode a big third quarter to start the 2022-23 basketball season with a win over Sidney, Iowa by a score of 57-49.
In 2021, the Johnson-Brock boys basketball team fell in their first two games of the season, including a three-point home opening loss to Sidney, Iowa. This season, the Eagles breezed past the Cowboys to start the season off with a win.
After reaching the Class C1 state title game for the fourth straight year, the Bulldogs have reloaded and are back and will be one of the premier teams in the state. Returning first team All-State players Skyler Roybal and Maverick Binder will lead the charge for the Bulldogs with returning varsity players like Austin Lavigne, Carson Leslie, and Nixon Ligouri stepping into larger roles. The Bulldogs have a good mix of large, physical post players and skilled, threatening guards, which will give them a shot to win any game on their schedule.
21 Auburn High School boys are out for the Auburn wrestling team this winter.
Three starters from the 2021-22 Auburn girls basketball team will return for the 2022-23 season. Only ten players are listed on the team’s roster, but with many varsity contributors returning, including three starters, the Bulldogs are well equipped for a winning season.
