The Auburn High School Girls Soccer Team beat visiting Nebraska City 2-1 in a shootout on April 27. The victory improved the Bulldogs record to 3-6, while the Pioneers fell to 1-11.
On April 22, the baseball team swept a pair of Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) North Division games against Graceland (Iowa). Game one was 7-1 as a final and game two was 11-2.
It had been almost two years since the Pioneers of Nebraska City played spring baseball. Like every other team in the state, the Pioneers never got to throw a single pitch in the 2020 season due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Entering the final week of the regular season, the Auburn Bulldog baseball team is 1-10.
When you are playing the top team in your division and one who is receiving votes in the most recent Top 25 poll and you get the series win, there is a reason to have a small celebration.
