In a complete season, the Auburn boys basketball team competes for four possible championships. The first being the Wayne State Holiday tournament, which the Bulldogs won by defeating Winnebago, Wayne, and Pierce. The final two championships of the season are still ahead. That being the District and State Championships. The second championship opportunity for the Bulldogs is the ECNC conference tournament, which the Bulldogs competed in last week.

The Johnson-Brock Eagles were 12-6 entering this week’s Pioneer Conference basketball tournament after ending January with a couple of home triumphs.
Coach Mark Oliver said, “The Bulldogs had a very good week of wrestling last week. We captured a runner-up finish at Freeman and at the ECNC Conference meet. We finally had a breakout meet at Freeman and followed it up with a better performance at the conference meet.”
The Auburn High School girls basketball team saw its perfect record snapped by Falls City Sacred Heart on Jan. 19 in a 27-62 loss to the also unbeaten Irish.
