Walks, singles, and urgent base running resulted in a six run second inning for the Bulldogs on Monday, November 11 at Tushla Field in Auburn. The visiting Crete team put up three runs in the first to put the Bulldogs in a hole early, but sloppy fielding and inconsistent pitching put Auburn ahead 6-3 after two. Freshman Landon Casey and Sophomore Travon Shaw reached base on errors, while Juniors Austin Lavigne and Braden Gerdes put a ball in play to land on first and spur the two-out rally. Gerdes worked to get ahead in the count, then drove in three runs with a single and started the scoring run.
