After defeating Crete and Fairbury in the early rounds of the Nebraska American Legion Juniors Baseball Area Tournament and falling to Nebraska City on July 10, the Auburn Airstream Juniors dropped to the losers’ bracket to face Hickman. A win over Hickman would have advanced the Juniors to the championship round, instead, a loss would put an end to one of the more successful seasons in recent history.
