Austin Lavigne is the 2023 Dave Swinney Memorial Award Male Athlete of the Year from Auburn High School (AHS). Olivia Swanson was conferred the Julie “Moe” Catlett Memorial Female Athlete of the Year.
As the district golf meet approaches, the Bulldogs played some of their final golf of the season at the Johnson County Central Invite. Junior Maverick Binder shot a 78, placing second and leading the Bulldogs to a second place finish in the meet in Tecumseh. Sophomore Hudson Emshoff also had a top ten finish, shooting a score of 85 to come in seventh place. Host JCC won the meet with a team score of 323.
The following Auburn High School student-athletes have been conferred letters in their respective sports from the 2022-2023 school year.
A heavy wind out of the south made a big impact in Auburn’s Monday night game against Schuyler, as the team aiming at the northern most goal at Bulldog Stadium got an assist from the breeze. In the first half, that team was Schuyler, and that advantage led to a 3-0 lead at the halfway point.
