Peru State Cheer Team Gets Its First-Ever Win

Although it was one of the coldest Valentine’s Days ever, it turned out to be a pretty hot night for the Peru State competitive cheer team.

On senior night in the Al Wheeler Activity Center with wind chill outside at least 20 degrees below zero, the Bobcat cheer team competed virtually against Mount Mercy (Iowa). The end result of evening was that Peru State won its first-ever competition in its two-year history of being a competitive team.

The Bobcats scored a 69.15 for their routine while the Mustangs scored 66.75. Each competed on their home mats with the judges viewing and rating the routines using the school’s respective live feeds.

The previous highest score ever for the season for the ‘Cats came when they had competed in the Concordia triangular and received a 50.15.
