Peru State Beat Missouri Valley Twice in Heart Baseball Opener

The Peru State baseball team swept its Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) opener on Saturday, March 10 in Marshall, Mo., over Missouri Valley. The Bobcats won 10-1 and 8-3 over the Vikings to improve to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the Heart. Mo Valley fell to 11-8 and 2-2. First Game Action

The ‘Cats struck first in the top of the first inning. Zach Nolin (Bonifay, Fla.) singled to short and went all the way to third when Joshua Banuelos (Moreno Valley, Calif.) reached on an error. Banuelos would move to second on the error as well. Gianfranco Garlobo (Carolina, Puerto Rico) reached on an error which scored Nolin. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, they could not push any more runs across, but had a 1-0 lead at that point.
