Eagles Accomplish Football-Basketball Championship Sweep Defeating Flyers, Irish and Tigers at D-2 State Tournament

Johnson-Brock High School has another addition to its trophy case.

Three wins late last week in Lincoln gave the Eagles the Class D-2 boys’ basketball state crown.

Thursday morning, March 7, the Eagles took care of the Humphrey St. Francis Flyers 67-57. Friday night, March 8, the Johnson-Brock boys edged the defending D-2 champion Falls City Sacred Heart Irish 57-54. It was the Eagles first win over the Irish in four tries in 2018-2019. In the final of six championship tilts Saturday night, March 9, Johnson-Brock pulled away in the second half earning a 67-54 win over the Osmond Tigers. The Eagles compiled a 24-4 season record.
