Bulldogs Eliminated from District Baseball Tourney 4-3 by Plattsmouth May 6; Two Seniors on 2021 Squad

The Auburn Bulldogs Baseball Team played second seed Plattsmouth even for most of eight innings before losing by the score 4-3. The locals ended their season at Hastings with a 1-15 record, while the Blue Devils improved to 15-8 and advanced to a semifinal matchup with third seed 12-7 Wayne, which beat Douglas County West 12-2.

In the other part of the Class B-1 bracket were top seed 18-5 Hastings, 7-11 Fort Calhoun and 11-10 Concordia/Brownell Talbot/ Omaha Christian Academy.

Plattsmouth led Auburn 3-1 after six innings before the Bulldogs tied the score 3-3 in the top of the seventh as Travon Shaw doubled home two runs. In the bottom of the eighth, William singled with one out and drove home the winning run.

Eggert earned the victory on the mound for Plattsmouth. He worked one and one-third innings allowing one hit and no runs, while striking out two and walking none.
