Bulldog Boys Beat Freeman 55-35

Auburn’s boys basketball team faced off against the Falcons of Freeman on Friday, December 20, in their last game before the holiday break. The Freeman game marked Auburn’s fourth of the year, and second road contest. The Bulldogs went into the matchup against the Falcons with a 3-0 record, including wins against conference opponents Malcolm, Weeping Water, and Elmwood-Murdock. The Falcons entered last Friday’s game with a 3-2 record, with wins over Palmyra, Conestoga, and Humboldt-Table Rock/ Steinauer, and losses to Lincoln Christian and Yutan.

From the opening tip Friday night, Auburn took control. Auburn’s 6’8” senior post Josh Lambert converted on a layup just seconds into the game. On the following defensive possession, senior CJ Hughes would grab a loose ball and run a fast break, where he would eventually dish the ball to junior Daniel Frary for a layup and a quick 4-0 lead. Frary would lead both teams in scoring with 21 points, a career high, while also bringing in 7 rebounds.
