Boone Central Gives Bulldogs Tough Test to Advance to C-1 State Basketball Tournament

After last week’s subdistrict victories over Syracuse and Fairbury, the Auburn boys basketball team tallied 58 consecutive wins, with their last loss dating back over two years. With the #1 spot in the Nebraska School Activities Association Class C-1 Powerpoint System, the Bulldogs would be able to fall back on their record following a loss, knowing that they would get a wild card spot, which would advance them to a district final.

At this point of the season for the Bulldogs though, they have nothing to fall back on. A loss would end their season.

#1 Auburn’s first must win game came against #16 Boone Central in the Class C-1-1 district final on Monday, March 1. While most high seeds had the benefit of hosting their own district final, the Bulldogs had to settle for a neutral site due to the distance between schools. The neutral site selected was Crete High School.
