Bobcats Overcome 16-point Deficit To Defeat Culver-Stockton 86-76

With 15:38 left in the game, the Peru State men’s basketball team trailed Culver-Stockton (C-SC) 57-41 in Canton, Mo., on Saturday. Over the course of the next 15+ minutes, the Bobcats outscored the Wildcats 46-19 to win 86-76 in a Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) North Division contest.

With the Nov. 28 win, Peru State broke a three-game losing streak and improved to 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in the Heart North. Culver-Stockton fell to 0-3 on the season and are 0-3 in conference play.

First Half Action

The first half saw nine ties and four lead changes. After the Wildcats scored the first bucket of the contest, Henry Tanksley (Lincoln) tied it up for the Bobcats. The game would be later tied at 4, 6, and eight before Peru State went on a 7-0 run. Skyler Wilson (Omaha) started the run off a fast break with a bucket and later would dish off an assist to William Lybaek (Trondheim, Norway) to put the Bobcats up 15-8 with 14:52 on the clock.
