Bobcats Hunter and Westbrook Earn NAIA All-America Honors

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2017-18 Division I Men’s Basketball All-America Teams on Wednesday. Peru State seniors Quantice Hunter (Chicago) and LJ Westbrook (Salem, Ore.) were among those honored.

Hunter was named to the Second Team while Westbrook earned Honorable Mention. This was the first national recognition for both players. Hunter and Westbrook were eligible for consideration having been named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference First Team late in February.

Two years ago, Bobcat Corday Sims was named to the first team after earning second team honors as a junior. Sims had been the first Bobcat to earn All-America First Team honors in 23 years as Ivan Wineglass was the last Peru Stater recognized in 1993. Myron Jenkins had received second team recognition in 2005.
