Auburn Airstream Juniors Lose to Plattsmouth in Area Tourney to End Play

The Auburn Airstream Juniors lost their final game of the season 7-2 against the DJ’s Dugout Juniors from Plattsmouth on Monday, July 12.

It looked promising early in the game for the Auburn team when Travon Shaw drove home a run in the bottom of the first inning, contributing to a 2-0 Auburn Airstream Juniors lead. Unfortunately for the locals, those were the only runs which they would score that night. Auburn’s advantage slipped away in the third inning when the DJ’s Dugout Juniors put up three runs in taking a 3-2 lead. The Plattsmouth team didn’t look back and scored another run in the fourth and three more in the sixth inning.

Shaw pitched for the Auburn Airstream Juniors allowing four hits, seven runs, and striking out four batters in five innings. Kellen Moody pitched the final two innings allowing two hits and no runs on 27 pitches.

The Airstream Juniors finished their season with a 14-12 record.
