WAYNE O. STUKENHOLTZ

1935-2017

 

Wayne Otto Stukenholtz, age 81 of Pharr, Texas, formerly of Nebraska City died January 6, 2017 in Pharr. He was born January 25, 1935 in Nebraska City, the son of Vernon and Alice (Otto) Stukenholtz and grew up on a farm north of Julian.

He married Joyce Elaine Teten September 24, 1954 in Nebraska City and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Wayne worked as a diesel mechanic instructor at the University of Nebraska at Curtis and was a member of the Paralyzed American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Stukenholtz of Pharr and son, Bill Stukenholtz and his wife Cari of Lincoln; daughter, Elaine Karel of Johnson; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Alan Stukenholtz and his wife Carol of Auburn; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mitchell. His sister, Betty Stukenholtz died January 14, 2017.

A joint memorial service for Wayne and his sister, Betty Stukenholtz will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 1144 M Street in Lincoln. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date.

There will be no viewing or visitations, however friends the family may sign a memorial register book 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City.

Memorials are suggested to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
