TERRY LEE HAGER

1942 - 2023

Terry Lee Hager, 80 years of age, of Nebraska City formerly of Auburn, Nebraska was born on August 5, 1942 in Auburn, Nebraska to Marion and Darlene (Barton) Hager. He grew up in Peru, Nebraska before moving with his family to Pueblo, Colorado. After his family moved back to Peru, Terry attended Peru Prep High School. In 1968, Terry was united in marriage to Leta Beery. Though this relationship wasn’t permanent, the couple did have two children together. On May 22, 1987, Terry was united in marriage to Evelyn “Sue” Simmons in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple moved to Auburn where they lived for 12 years before moving to Nebraska City. Terry worked for many years as an assistant Supervisor for Airlite Plastic Company in Omaha before retiring in Nebraska City. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Terry passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at his home in Nebraska City, Nebraska having reached the age of eighty years, eleven months and twenty-two days. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sue Hager, and brother Kenneth Hager.

Terry Hager is survived by his children: Allen Hager and his wife Sandy of Omaha, NE; Tina Holmes of Mondamin, IA; step-son Jim Simmons and his wife Heather of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, his sister Carol Furnas of Brownville, NE; sister-in-law Lana Hager of DeWitt, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service and Luncheon will be held from 12:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Peru City Hall, 614 N. 5th Street in Peru, Nebraska.
