RONALD “RON” SHUBERT

1948-2023

Ronald “Ron” Shubert, age 75, Shubert, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 at Shubert. He was born May 6, 1948 at Falls City, son of Melvin “Bud” and Mary Eleanor (Kennedy) Shubert. Shubert married Sandy McKinnis Sept. 5, 1971 at Blair.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy following graduation. Shubert served aboard the USS Charles F. Adams as an oil king. He served in San Diego, Great Lakes and Charleston, S.C. Naval Bases. Shubert was honorably discharged in 1970.

He was raised on a farm near Shubert and graduated from Shubert High in 1966. Following his honorable discharge, Shubert returned to Shubert and farmed with his father and eventually he farmed with his son, Brent. He was also a rural mail carrier from 1993 until 2014. Shubert was a member and elder of Shubert Christian Church and also a past member of American Legion Post No. 222.

Surviving are his wife: Sandy Shubert of Shubert; three sons: Leland (Susan) Shubert of Omaha; Kris (Nikki) Shubert of Adams and Brent (Tanya) Shubert of Falls City; and grandchildren: Kevin, Anne, Katie, Hayleigh, Colton, Gavin, Everett, Madison and a baby on the way.

Shubert was preceded by his parents; sister, Carole Williams and a grandson, Greyson Matthew Shubert.

His funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at Shubert Christian Church with the Rev. Dennis Fullbright officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Union Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

Family members will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 7 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
