RONALD “RON” E. RITTER

1934-2019

Ronald “Ron” E. Ritter, 84, formerly of Sterling, Colorado, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Loveland, Colorado. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling. Funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 18th at 1:30 p.m. at the Sterling Nazarene Church with Pastor Dale Wesley officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Ron was born October 27, 1934 in Cook, Nebraska to Paul and Sophie (Wilhelm) Ritter. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in Tecumseh, Neb. with the class of 1951. On July 7, 1955 Ron married Marlene Oestmann at Martin Luther Church in Nemaha County, Nebraska. During his working life Ron farmed in Nebraska until January of 1963, when he moved to Ft. Collins, Colo., and went to work for Cowan Concrete. Ron started as a truck driver and also manufacturing Miami Stone, he quickly became manager of the block division. In 1975 Ron started a fireplace and precast concrete company. All of the family worked together in the business promoting fireplaces and precast concrete, many of whom still do today.

Ron was raised in the Christian faith and was active in numerous church activities during his life. Faith and family meant everything to him.

Ron is survived by wife Marlene Ritter, daughter Elaine (Ralph) Lauffer of Ft. Collins, son Duane (Jane) Ritter of Ft. Collins, son Lavon (B.A.) Ritter of Sterling, daughter LaVelle (Chip) West of Windsor, grandchildren Darin (Stephanie), Sharon (Jeremy), Amanda (Gerald), Jared, Cory, Cody (Mandy), Daniel, Joseph, Kevin, Samuel, Duston, Travis, Ryan, Wade, great-grandchildren Caleb, Lillian, Amara, and Juliette.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Sophie Ritter, and brother Harold Ritter.

In honor of Ron memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as it was a soft spot in his heart where he donated yearly, c/o Tennant Funeral Home PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
