ROBERT ‘BOB’ LEE KINNISON

Robert “Bob” Lee Kinnison, 87, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on January 2, 1931, in Angus, Nebraska to the late John R. and Meda E. (Shipley) Kinnison. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Edgar High School with the Class of 1950. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army and entered active service on January 15, 1953. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on January 14, 1955. Bob returned home to work the farm with his dad and later became a heavy equipment operator. He retired a member of Operating Engineers Local 101 in 1993 and moved to Humboldt. On July 14, 2001, Bob was united in marriage to Timmie Montanelli. He attended the Northridge church in Humboldt and was a member of the Harvey-Mann Legion Post #269 and VFW. Bob enjoyed NASCAR, football, boating, fishing, camping and attending car shows. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends involving good food and his favorite kind of pie, (ALL kinds). Bob passed away on Thursday October 11, 2018, at St. Elizabeth’s Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Neb. having reached the age of 87 years, nine months, and nine days. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Meda Kinnison, wife Neola Pence, a sister Mildred Twist, brothers-in-law Claude Standerford and Carl Twist, step-children: Ronnie Rempley, Alice Hawley and Mary Smith, step-grandson Jerry Hawley, and nieces Alberta Johnson and Claudine Standerford. Bob is survived by his loving wife Timmie Kinnison of Humboldt; children: Dallas Kinnison of Lincoln, Missouri; J.R. Montanelli of Brownville, Neb.; John Montanelli and wife Jeannie of Nemaha, Neb.; Arthur Rempley of Montana; Bobby Rempley of Ft. Worth, Texas; Leah Reyes and husband J. Refugio of Humboldt, Neb.; Missy Ellsworth of Surprise, Arizona; Peggy Wright of Kansas City, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; step son-in-law Larry Hawley of Omaha, Neb.; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, with Dan Avery officiating. Interment was in the Humboldt Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Nebraska Army Honor Guard and Harvey-Mann Legion Post #269.
