MERLE “MAC” D. MORRIS

Merle “Mac” D. Morris, 92 years of age, of Auburn passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn. He was born on June 17, 1927 in Nebraska City to John and Dora (Snyder) Morris. Mac attended Brock High School. He served in the United States Navy from June 1, 1945 to August 7, 1946. Mac married Willa Roberts on April 25, 1947 in Hiawatha, Kansas. He worked several places including Rutledge Machine Works, Talmage Implement Company, Mobil Oil Company, Leuders Oil Company and drove a school bus for many years. Mac was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Brock Volunteer Fire Department and helped start the Avenue of Flags. He enjoyed Nebraska Football and Volleyball and coffee with friends.

Mac is survived by his daughter, Linda Morris of Grant; brother, Larry Morris and wife Beth of Pikeville, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Willa on February 17, 2016; three brothers; and four sisters.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Lafayette Cemetery near Brock with Pastor Jackie Gfeller officiating.
