GRACE NICOLE ALLGOOD
Grace Nicole Allgood, daughter of Travis Allgood and Amanda Mayfield, was born May 7, 1999, in Omaha, Nebraska. Grace grew up and attended school in Auburn, Nebraska, graduating from Auburn High School in 2017. Grace was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn.
While in high school, Grace met Trey Holmes and the two began dating in June of 2017. The couple would be blessed with two boys, Tayton John and Tannon Dean. It was well known that Grace always had her boys and that was all that she needed. She loved to take them on walks and was fiercely protective of her babies. Grace “mommed hard” and would gladly take a night in with her boys over anything else.
In high school, Grace was a member of the F.F.A. She served as secretary of F.F.A. and was very proud to pass that position on to her sister Faith. In her free time, Grace loved to ride four-wheelers, go mudding, hunting, and just be outdoors enjoying nature. She was very creative and was always making crafts and even gifts for loved ones on special occasions, that always involved her boys. She was also very good at baking, a trait passed on to her from time spent with her grandmas.
Grace received her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate, but soon learned that working at a nursing home was not for her. Her love of children drew her to begin working at Kids of His Kingdom daycare. Grace’s love of animals then began her employment with Hearts United for Animals in Auburn. She had always loved animals, having many pets throughout the years from dogs and cats to raccoons, gerbils, ferrets, and a “bunnyfox”.
On May 1, 2021, Grace was taken from this life far too soon. She was preceded in death by her Grandma Sheila Mayfield, cousin Mackenzie Browne, and her favorite dog Broozer.
Those left to remember her contagious smile are her fiancé Trey Holmes of Auburn; sons Tayton John and Tannon Dean Holmes; mother Amanda (Jeff) Powell of Auburn; father Travis Allgood of Auburn; siblings Kody (Jackie) Allgood of St. Roberts, Missouri, Faith Allgood of Auburn, Fenix Allgood of Auburn; step-siblings Ashley Currie, Trenton Powell; grandparents Richard and Carolyn Allgood of Auburn, John Mayfield of Auburn; aunts and uncles Melanie Duncan, Alex Mayfield, Carmen Freeman, Jody McDonald, Jeff Allgood; other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life was held Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn, officiated by Rev. Tom Osborne. Hunter Sherman performed a solo accompanied by Lexie Baack on piano. Urn bearers were Trey Holmes, Kody Allgood, Tayton John Holmes, and Tannon Dean Holmes.
Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home.
