ELIZABETH ANN POLHLOPEK

1933 - 2023

Elizabeth Ann Polhlopek, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2023. She was born on December 4, 1933, in Auburn, Nebraska.

She was a graduate of Auburn High School in 1951 and received her RN diploma at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1954.

Liz married Walter Polhlopek on May 7, 1955. She worked in nursing at various locations as she traveled with her husband during his Air Force career. They moved to Crestview in October, 1975, where she worked at Crestview Community Hospital until 1996. She was an active member of Our Lady of Vic Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister Evelyn (Robert) Myers, a brother Kenneth Hug, her parents, Clarence and Anna Bindel Hug, and stepfather Joseph Hug.

She is survived by her children Michael (Michelle) Polhlopek, Roy Utah; Ann Hakenson, Robert (Lynne) Polhlopek, Steve (Deloras) Polhlopek all of Baker, Florida; brother Butch (Caroline) Hug of Lincoln, Nebraska, sister-in-law Linda Hug of Auburn, Nebraska. She loved spending time with her grandchildren Christopher, Kyle, Hunter, Shannon Polhlopek, Lizzie Duncan, Jerry Ingram, Kevin Lundberg, and great grandchildren Taesyn, Emery, and Jovie Duncan. She was also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
