COLLEEN CHERIE (HALL) MASONBRINK

1936-2023

Colleen Cherie (Hall) Masonbrink, 87, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on May 10, 1936, in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Ralph and Phoebe (Streeter) Hall. She received her schooling in Nebraska City and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the class of 1954.

On February 15, 1963, Colleen was united in marriage to Duane Masonbrink. The couple made their home in Humboldt while raising their 10 children until moving to the farm in 1973. Duane and Coleen owned and operated the Humboldt Sale Barn and farmed until selling the Sale Barn in December of 1982. The couple lived in Omaha and Lincoln where they managed apartment buildings and Duane was an over the road truck driver. In 1991, they moved back to Humboldt to their present home while Duane continued to truck until his retirement. Colleen was an excellent cook, seamstress and immaculate housekeeper. She will be remembered for her hospitality to all.

Colleen went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-seven years, one month, and five days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Duane, children: Norman, Lesa, and Charlene, one grandchild, and brother Jerry Hall.

Colleen is survived by her sons: Mike (Jerri) Masonbrink, Roger (Christy) Masonbrink, David (Julie) Masonbrink, Ken (Cindy) Masonbrink, Patrick Masonbrink, daughters: Susie (Jim) Shupp and Brenda Franks, 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and sister-in-law Beverly Hall.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Humboldt Cemetery in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Dorothy Smith officiating. Casual attire is requested by the family for those attending services.

Visitation were held from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska. Family will greeted friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
