JOHN “J.W.” WILLIAMSON

1949-2020

John Walter Williamson, one of two children of George S. and Beulah L. (Reeves) Williamson, was born January 25, 1949, in Falls City, Nebraska. John grew up on a farm near Humboldt, Nebraska, and attended school in Humboldt, graduating from Humboldt High School in 1968.

After high school, John, or J.W., as he often went by, was employed at Auburn Consolidated Industries and would work there until its closing. John was a very hard worker and was good at what he did. He continued to work on mower assembly at Exmark Manufacturing in Beatrice for three years. J.W. then worked at Crosswind Industries in Sabetha, Kansas until his health no longer allowed.

In his spare time J.W. enjoyed hunting and loved to fish. He belonged to the Missouri River Fishing Club for many years.

John passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the age of 71 years, 1 month, and 13 days. His parents and sister Nadyne preceded him in death.

John is survived by his special friends Larry and Connie Dorsch; Paula, Zach, and MacKenzie Oestmann; Lori, Tim, TJ, Lindsey, and Landon Hager; nephews Allen, Paul, Robert; uncle and aunts Floyd and Shirley Reeves, Panzy Adams, Lula Mae Ruby, Phyllis Reeves; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held Monday, March 16, 2020, at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, officiated by Dale Thomas. Zach and MacKenzie Oestmann, TJ, Lindsey, and Landon Hager served as urn bearers. Burial followed in Humboldt Cemetery at Humboldt.

Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
