Bulldog Boys Tip Off 2019-2020 by Beating Malcolm 83-42

The Auburn boys basketball team tipped off the 2019-20 season with an 83-42 victory over the Malcolm Clippers at Auburn High School on Saturday, December 7. This season the Bulldogs start on top with a #1 pre-season rating in Class C1 as they aim to repeat last season’s success of a state championship.

Auburn returns four starters from last year’s championship team. Those returning starters include junior Cam Binder, the team’s point guard and leading scorer last year. Binder averaged 20 ppg last season, as well as converting the go-ahead shot in the final seconds of the state championship game. Binder was hailed as a First Team All-Stater in Class C1. Fellow junior Dan Frary returns from break-out performances at the state tournament, which granted him a spot on the Class C1 All-Tournament Team along with Binder.
