Students Return to Classes Friday, Aug. 13 at Auburn Public Schools

The start of August means it’s time to turn our attention to the beginning of the new school year.

Friday, Aug. 13 is the first student day at Auburn Public Schools (APS). All kindergarteners through 12th graders report at 8 a.m. It will be a shortened day, with 11:15 a.m. dismissal at Calvert Elementary and 11:30 a.m. at the middle and high school. It follows four days of all-day teacher inservice.

Preschoolers attending Bulldog Beginnings will start Monday, Aug. 16. They will be in school Mondays through Thursdays. There are two sessions: from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and from 11:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. If your child was 3 years of age before Saturday, July 31, he/she is eligible to attend preschool. Bulldog Beginnings primarily follows the APS calendar. When there is early dismissal, there will be no afternoon pre-kindergarten.
