Over 100 People in Attendance Grand Opening Held for Runway Paving Project

Auburn Airport Authority members welcomed the public to an Oct. 21 open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly paved runway, taxiways and new hangar facility at Farington Field. Over 100 people attended the program which included speakers and flying demonstrations. The new runway measures 3750 by 60-foot, has a turnaround at the south end and 35-foot-wide paved taxiways leading to the newer hangar facility and terminal building with a refurbished apron. In 2015, a larger hangar was built and in 2010 a new terminal building was constructed. The most recent improvements to Auburn’s municipal airport in addition to those mentioned above include new lighting and a new beacon.
