Nemaha County Commissioners Hear Of SEDHD Plans to Obtain Containers To Drop Off Unused Medications

The Southeast District Health Department (SEDHD) is working towards obtaining unused medication disposal receptacles throughout its five-county area. The district serves Nemaha, Johnson, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties.
Kevin Cluskey, SEDHD director, informed the Nemaha County Commissioners Wednesday, Sept. 20 the district ranks in the Top Five among the 19 health districts in Nebraska in overall opioid deaths. The region does not have a large enough population to release specific statistics from each county, he said.
