Nemaha County Commissioners Allow Sheriff to Pursue RFP of Public Safety Software System

Wednesday, Jan. 20, the Nemaha County Commissioners authorized Sheriff Brent Lottman to advertise a request for proposal for a public safety software system.

The records management system furnishes the storage, retrieval, retention, manipulation, archiving and viewing of information, records, documents or files pertaining to law enforcement operations.

Lottman will also seek prices of a flagpole at the Law Enforcement Building which would display the U.S. and Nebraska state flags. He told county officials he has received inquiries why there is not one onsite. The sheriff recalls the facility has had not had a flagpole as long as he remembers. Lottman contacted Dave Hunter, Board of Public Works general manager because of nearby overhead electrical lines. He has been advised to contact Nebraska 811, a free service to anyone planning a digging project. The commissioners thought displaying the flags would be worthwhile.
