Mayor Signs Proclamation Declaring Masks Be Worn in Auburn for Time Being

On Nov. 25, Auburn Mayor Dan White signed a proclamation declaring that persons in Auburn should wear masks when appropriate.

Following a discussion with Dr. Gary Ensz of Auburn Family Health Center, Marty Fattig with Nemaha County Hospital, Auburn City Council President Jeff Jeanneret, City Attorney Angelo Ligouri, City Clerk Sherry Heskett and County Sheriff Brent Lottman, the Mayor determined that the current health situation involving COVID-19 is such that wearing masks should be the rule at this time.

While the City Council hasn’t officially voted on the issue, it will have a chance to make its thoughts known during the Dec. 14 regular meeting.
