Western National Bank is headquartered in Chester, Nebraska, with branch offices in Byron and Cairo, Neb., as well as Summerfield, Kansas. Western reported total assets of $135 million on December 31, 2020.

Mainstreet Bank is headquartered in Cook, Nebraska, with branch offices in Peru, Virginia, Tecumseh, Syracuse, Wymore and Louisville, Neb. Mainstreet reported total assets of $100 million on December 31, 2020.

Bank Officials’ Comments

Douglas commented, “I am excited to announce our plan to merge with Western National Bank. Brian and Dallen understand the value local banks have on the communities they serve. Western’s culture and philosophy are similar to those of Mainstreet Bank and the Douglas family. Both banks do an excellent job serving their customers. However, by combining the banks we enhance our services with a higher bank lending limit and more opportunities to reinvest into our communities.”
