First Round of COVID-19 Vaccinations Administered at Nemaha County Hospital

The Southeast District Health Department (SEDHD) announced Dec. 21 that the first doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine had arrived in the district.

SEDHD is working closely with the district’s health care partners and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to ensure efficient and secure distribution of the vaccine across the district. It covers Nemaha, Johnson, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties.

“The partnership between SEDHD and the district’s health care organizations has been incredible throughout the entirety of the pandemic. The collaboration between health care organizations and the health department provided us an opportunity to be one of the few rural regions within the state to receive and distribute the Pfizer vaccine,” said Grant Brueggemann, SEDHD director.
