A teaching contract with Emily Rohrer was approved by the Auburn Public Schools (APS) Board of Education Monday, March 8.

Rohrer will be teaching sixth grade. She is currently teaching at Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools.

“We had excellent candidates. Emily was a unanimous choice by the administrative team. She’s excited to join us. She’s already meeting staff and students. She’s eager to grow as an educator,” notes Suzanne Whisler, director of school improvement and curriculum.

Superintendent David Patton states the administrators were impressed with the number of candidates who applied.

“It speaks to the strength and culture of our district to have numerous qualified candidates,” says Ryan Jones, school board member.
