Commissioners Approve Low Rock Hauling Bid

A $44,300 rock hauling bid from Westover Rock & Sand of Weeping Water was accepted Wednesday, May 15 by the Nemaha County Commissioners. There will be 2,000 tons of rock hauled to each of three locations. The breakdown is: $14,200 or $7.10 per ton to Auburn; $17,600 or $8.80 per ton to Nemaha; and $12,500 or $6.25 per ton to Johnson. The other bid obtained was from Larry Sorensen of Weeping Water. It totaled $64,000; or $16,000 to Johnson, $18,000 to Auburn and $20,000 to Nemaha. Buel declined to submit a bid.
