Bulldog Speakers Place Second at Beatrice; Host Invitational Feb. 9

The Auburn High School Bulldog speech team was second in the 14-school Big O Speech Meet Saturday, Feb. 2 at Beatrice. Coach Diana Eickhoff noted scoring was based primarily upon rank instead of rank and rating points. Trophies were awarded to the two teams with the highest sweepstakes points, she stated. Malcolm, tallying 105 points earned first place. Auburn finishing with 53 points achieved second. Third place went to Humboldt/Table Rock-Steinauer with 40 points. This was the second meet of the year for Auburn. Many of the competing schools started competing before Christmas, Eickhoff said. She concluded all of the team’s members competed well!
