Auburn BPW Gets Update on Status Peru’s Water Plant

Wednesday, April 10, the Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) heard an update on the Peru water system.

An average of 80,000 gallons daily has been transported to Peru since its water plant shut down Saturday, March 16.

Dave Hunter, general manager, notes the lift station is back in service with minimal damage. He reported discharging the lagoons to a more normal level has begun. The utility continues working towards acquiring a portable water treatment plant until permanent repairs can be made and the facility is operational, the general manager stated.
