Arbor Manor Reaches 60 Years of Providing Fine Dining in Auburn

60 years ago, Arbor Manor Steakhouse and Lounge opened for business. In 1961, LeRoy (Ozzie) and Helga Osborne, along with their daughter Charlene Majors, turned the Queen Anne Victorian style house into a business that would become a staple of the Auburn community.

The main part of the building was completed in 1910 by owners Thomas A. Bath and his wife Adeline. Between 1910 and 1961, three families lived in the dwelling, but it wasn’t until the Osbornes bought the house that it became a steakhouse and lounge.

Charlene Majors and her husband Bob eventually sold the house after a fire destroyed the lounge and part of the house. Amy Clark, who now owns Arbor Manor along with her husband Rick, said that the wood which was original to the house can still be distinguished from the wood that had to be replaced after the fire.
