APS Board of Education Approves $147,000 Contract with Dr. Virginia Moon in 2019-20; Commencement Moved to Sunday, May 10th

A 2019-2020 interim superintendent contract with Dr. Virginia Moon was approved Monday, July 8 by the Auburn Public Schools (APS) Board of Education. The board met at the Brownville Village Hall.

Moon will be paid a salary of $147,000. The contract started Monday, July 1 continuing through Tuesday, June 30, 2020. She also will be paid a monthly $600 stipend covering travel and lodging expenses. Moon has received a pro rated salary of $140,000 since becoming interim superintendent in late January, succeeding Kevin Reiman. She calls APS a wonderful district and is proud to be part of it.

Board member Beth Kernes-Krause states the APS superintendent salary has been below the median of other districts. APS is working to remedy that, she notes.
