AERIAL PHOTOS OF LAND

on both sides of the Missouri River show how the area has been severely impacted by flooding.

The photo above with the camera pointed to the north of Peru shows the river and adjacent property having not been subject to much flooding as of early afternoon Friday, March 14. The photo below with the camera pointed mostly south with the village of Brownville in the distance was taken early afternoon on Monday, March 18 tells a much different story after the river had breached area levees and the water spilled out into many acres of wetlands and producers’ farmland. The Missouri River is expected to remain near major flood stage until later this week and then be at a moderate level for a few days after that.
