Siphay Ten Kongmanyvong was born on November 1, 1977, to Khamphanh and Onsi Vongsakhmphui in Vientiane, Laos. She grew up as the third oldest of seven children. She was a dedicated student and graduated from high school. Siphay then began working in a restaurant as a chef, where she perfected her culinary skills. Anyone that has tasted her food can attest to that. She immigrated to Nebraska in 2006 and married Bounma Kongmanyvong on April 12, 2006. Through this marriage, Siphay gained two stepchildren, Sopha and Johnny, and also brought into the world, Danny and Kelly.  She loved nothing more than being a mother to her four children. She taught them kindness, patience, and empathy and eventually taught Bounma too.
Siphay worked at Tyson Foods (formerly Smart Chicken) for 17 years, where she was also able to learn English. She never gave herself credit for how proficient she had become.
In addition to being a devoted mother, Siphay loved to cook. Her famous dishes include flower cookies and sao khoo, but to her family every dish she prepared was her best. She  cooked for many graduations and school banquets, to which she had never received a complaint. Siphay also enjoyed listening to music, watching Thai dramas, gardening, and watching JCC sports.
Siphay passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh, Nebraska at the age of 48 years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Bounma and her children, Sopha, Johnny, Danny, and Kelly; her 2 older sisters, 2 younger sisters, and two younger brothers in Laos; her relatives Leokham Theplikhith of Beatrice, and Harry and Kamphonh Xayaphonesongkham of Tecumseh and many nieces and nephews in Nebraska and Laos. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Special music includes “Till You Can’t” by Cody Johnson, “Yellow” by Coldplay, “Marjorie” by Taylor Swift and “Photograph” by Ed Sheeran.  Memorials may go to the family’s choice. Services are entrusted to Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
