Gloria Fae Oxley

Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 25 from 12 pm to 7 pm, with family receiving friends from 4 pm to 6 pm, at Butherus Maser and Love funeral home, 4040 A St, Lincoln.
The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Butherus Maser and Love.
Burial will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday at the Laurel Cemetery in Laurel, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to St Jude’s or Make A Wish Foundation.

Gloria Fae Oxley passed away peacefully on September 20th after a courageous battle with dementia.
Gloria was born October 5, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Thelma and Elmer Hattig. They lived in Laurel, Nebraska until her 4th grade year. They then moved to a farm five miles north of Laurel and attended a country school through the 8th grade. Gloria graduated from Laurel High School.
Gloria majored in Home Economics and Music at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. Her first teaching job was a Home Economics job at Creighton Public Schools. She also taught for many years at Auburn Public Schools as well as Wilber Clatonia Public Schools.
On August 16, 1964, she married the love of her life, Gary Oxley. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Douglas and twins Mark and Melissa.
Gloria loved to sew and was a very talented seamstress. One of her passions was donating her time and talent to sew clothing and blankets for infants in need. She also loved to play piano, watch Husker sports, travel, and spend time with her miniature schnauzers and grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by son Doug (wife, Laurie), son Mark and grandchildren, Katelynn, Michael and Joshua.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, Gary Oxley, daughter, Melissa, parents Thelma and Elmer Hattig and grandson, Alex Oxley.
