1933 - 2026

Raymond L. Borrenpohl was born December 8, 1933 to Louis and Matilda “Tillie” (Lutz) Borrenpohl at home on the family farm east of Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was baptized December 24, 1933. His baptism verse was “These words which I command thee this day shall be upon your thine heart, and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.” Deut. 6:6-7. Raymond was confirmed May 25, 1947 and his confirmation verse was “Be thou faithful until death and I will give thee a crown of life.” Rev. 2:10, both at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He graduated from the 8th grade in 1947 from District #23 country school.

He married Peggy Ann Feurer on February 11, 1955 in Sidney, Iowa. Five children were born to this union: Roger, Kenneth, Dale, Mike and Brenda. Raymond farmed all his life, he took a physical for the service, but because of a childhood injury, he was turned down, so he stayed home and helped his dad farm.

Raymond loved animals, raising cattle, and looked forward to putting in his crops and combining them. Harvest was his favorite time of the year. He did a lot for his family over the years. In his later years, Raymond could be found riding his side by side to check on the farm and the crops.

He passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the age of 92 years in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Raymond is survived by his wife Peggy, sons, Roger Borrenpohl and wife Bev, Dale Borrenpohl and wife Deb, Mike Borrenpohl and wife Mary all of rural Tecumseh and daughter Brenda Parrish and husband Kevin of Lincoln, 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kenneth, brother Robert Borrenpohl and wife Lena and sister Darlene Hill and husband Robert.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating. Cheryl Meister, organist, accompanied congregational hymns, “How Great Thou Art” and “Jesus Loves Me”. Pallbearers were grandsons, Rick Borrenpohl, Travis Borrenpohl, Matt Borrenpohl, Billy Borrenpohl, Brandon Borrenpohl, Mike Borrenpohl, Tanner Parrish and Conner Parrish. Interment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska. Memorials may go to the family’s choice. Arrangements were entrusted to Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
