Janet “Jann” E. (Olmsted) Brazer, 78, passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after battling pulmonary fibrosis for over a decade. Jann was born on July 12, 1948, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, to Jerome and Lorraine Olmsted. She spent most of her adult life in the Coquille, Oregon, area, where she raised her family, pursued her career, and became a valued member of her community. In recent years, Jann resided in Winchester, California, with her husband, John, near her daughter and family.

Jann married Dr. John W. Brazer of Omaha in 1971, in Tecumseh, Nebraska. They shared 55 years of marriage. Their life together was built on love, family, and a deep commitment to one another.

Jann worked as an X-ray technician for nearly 30 years, dedicating much of her professional life to caring for others. She was also a woman of faith who valued her St. James Episcopal Church family and the community that surrounded it. Jann had a natural talent for interior design and took great pride in creating a beautiful and welcoming home. Her sense of style and design was often ahead of its time, reflecting her creativity and distinctive eye for beauty. She had a special ability to make a house feel like home, and that warmth and attention to detail reflected who she was. She loved camping, traveling to Hawaii, visiting family in Nebraska, and spending time with her beloved cats throughout the years.

Above all, Jann cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Her family was at the center of her life, and the love she shared with them will remain one of her greatest legacies.

Jann is survived by her husband, Dr. John W. Brazer; daughter, Erin Bolton (Adrian); son, Matthew Brazer; mother, Lorraine Olmsted; brother, Jim Olmsted; sisters, Nancy Cherry and Laurie Chadek; and her three beloved grandchildren, Layton Bolton, Chase Bolton, and Drew Brazer. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Olmsted.

Jann will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind more than memories; she leaves the lasting imprint of a life filled with love, beauty, faith, and devotion. Though she is no longer with us, Jann’s love will continue to live in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends for generations to come.

A service celebrating Jann’s life will be held on November 13, 2026, in California.
