MARY ANNABELLE “ANNIE” (KEIM) KENT
Mary Annabelle (Keim) Kent of Broomfield, Colorado passed onto eternal life on July 9, 2026. Annie was born January 11, 1933 to Louie and Mary Lucille (Wolf) Keim in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She lived over half her life in Tecumseh, graduating from Tecumseh High School in 1950. After graduation, she married Daryl Kent on July 22, 1950, which lasted almost 75 years. They made their home in Tecumseh and to this union three sons were born, Larry, Randy and Danny. After they were married Annie worked for the Doctors office as a receptionist. When Larry and Randy were in grade school she started working at the Tecumseh Public School in the food service department. After a few years she became the Manager of the food service program until after both boys graduated. She then became am X-ray technician for the Johnson County Hospital until Daryl was transferred to Omaha with Campbell Soup Co. They enjoyed playing pinochle and family gatherings while living in Tecumseh.
As a young girl she often helped her Grandma Wolf take care of the elderly people that Grandma Wolf had boarding at her home. She would get a dime to run errands for the residents on Saturdays. She also stated that since her father had his own construction company that they were the first home on their street to get concrete sidewalks because her dad would bring leftover concrete from jobs to pour the sidewalks. Later in life she enjoyed watching the Nebraska Cornhusker Football games.
In Omaha Annie found a love for golf, which she got two hole in ones, (par 3 courses). She also learned how to play bridge which she and Daryl continued to do into retirement. Also in retirement they would go to art shows in Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa where Daryl sold his artwork and were able to travel to Colorado and California to see family. They spent over twenty winters in Bullhead City, Arizona, since she did not like cold weather or snow. While in Arizona, they made many friends from all around the mid-west. After Daryl passed in 2025, she moved to an Assisted Living Facility in Colorado where she was able to be close to Larry and Linda. There she enjoyed spending here days reading, watching golf on TV and watching the prairie dogs outside her window.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daryl, son Daniel Mark, parents Louie and Lucille Keim, sister June Heideman and brother-in-law Harlan Heideman and brother Mike Keim, in laws Carl and Pearl Kent, sister-in-law and brother in-law Elna and Bob Gieser.
She is survived by sons Larry (Linda) Kent of Broomfield, Colorado and Randy (Lona) Kent of Poway, California, grandchildren Travis Kent, Justin and Tracey Kent, Brandon and Crystal Kent, Regan Kent and Shana and Jeff Gridley, ten great-grandsons and four great- granddaughters, one great-great granddaughter, sister- in-law Verlys Keim, nephew Louie Keim and nieces, Tami Nielsen, Jean Brandt and Jane Oswald.
Services will be held at a later date.
