Everett Wayne Minchow passed away on June 29, 2026, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, at the age of 91.

Many will remember Wayne from the communities of Tecumseh, Lincoln, and Eagle, Nebraska. Wayne was born in Table Rock, NE, on November 14, 1934, to Everett Victor and Genevieve Margaret (Bethel) Minchow. Table Rock is where he grew up and graduated high school. He attended Peru State Teachers College where he earned a degree in education. While at Peru State he lettered in football and track and was part of the All Conference Football team.

Wayne taught school and coached sports for eight years in several communities including Reserve and Highland, KS, and Howells, NE. He is fondly remembered by many of his students who even attended his 50th wedding anniversary party.

Wayne met and fell in love with Carol Louise Stutheit, the redhead who won his heart. They married in October, 1955 and were together until her passing in November, 2022. Carol and Wayne welcomed four children: Dennis, Bradley, Douglas, and Lori. They were blessed with 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Wayne worked for Lincoln Equipment and Nebraska Machinery for thirty five years in sales and later as a sales manager. He was known for his integrity and no - nonsense approach to equipment deals. Later, Wayne enjoyed many years of self-employment, buying and selling equipment, and working as a heavy equipment operator.

When asked by family members which job he most liked, he would reply with fond memories of each one. He enjoyed all sports, wanted his children and grandchildren in sports, and enjoyed seeing the light in the eye of the person he taught or coached. He often said equipment operation was a favorite. He enjoyed the sense of accomplishment he had when seeing a project completed.

But his most prized role was that of Father and Grandpa. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He would often share stories of them and speak not only of their accomplishments but their character and tenacity. His grandchildren recall how they could rely on Grampa Wayne for anything; he always found a way to help as much as he could. They were the light of his life.

Wayne is predeceased by his parents, Everett and Genevieve, his son, Douglas, his grandson, Taylon Artman, his wife of 67 years, Carol and brother-in-law Herb Lueders.

Wayne leaves behind his daughter, Lori, sons, Dennis and Brad, and sister, Janet Lueders. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
