Richard J. Stivers, 87, of Auburn, NE, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Richard Jay Stivers was born on March 8, 1939, in Auburn, NE, to Earl M. and Onilee W. (Nincehelser) Stivers. He attended school in Rosalind, NE, graduating from Rosalind High School with the Class of 1956.

Richard worked as a computer systems programmer for Mutual of Omaha for approximately 22 years. He also worked for IBM and several other computer companies, taking him throughout the country, including Denver, CO, and Idaho Falls, ID. Later in life, he joined Hitachi Data Systems, which brought him back to Nebraska. He retired in 1998.

Richard was united in marriage to Ronda (Cunningham) Neumeister on May 9, 1997, in Las Vegas, NV.

He is survived by his wife of over 29 years, Ronda Stivers of Auburn, NE; children, Michelle (Jim) Hansen of Omaha, NE, Nathan (Tracy) Neumeister of Nebraska City, NE, and Corey (Jasmine) Neumeister of Bellevue, NE; grandchildren, Matt Pfeiffer, Lisa Perrin, Macy Neumeister, Clayton Neumeister, Conner Neumeister, Joss Neumeister, Airon Tuttle, Jenny Hammond, Sara Landon, Katie Landon, Natalie Mason, and Tim Hansen; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Loren Stivers of Rock Springs, TX; and brother-in-law, James Mordah of El Central, CA; other family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Earl and Onilee Stivers, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Michael Stivers; daughter, Kay Pfeiffer; sister, Carol Mordah; and brother, Don Stivers. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Peru Cemetery in Peru, NE.
