BENJAMIN “BEN” LEUENBERGER
BENJAMIN “BEN” LEUENBERGER
Benjamin Carl “Ben” Leuenberger was born to Robert “Bob” and Joyce (Benjamin) Leuenberger on April 20, 1987 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He grew up west of Tecumseh and participated in sports his entire life. “Lou” as he was known to his friends, played countless years of baseball, football and basketball for the Tecumseh Indians. He graduated from Tecumseh High School with the Class of 2006. After graduation, Ben worked locally over the years with his friend Ethan Dresen. He was currently working for BF Construction at the mine in Weeping Water, NE. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Ben helped carry on the family tradition of going out to the Pine Ridge area every fall for the opening of deer season, which was started by Grandpa Fred, his dad Bob and uncle Dan. Now the tradition carries on with his brothers Chris and Joe, nephews and cousins. Ben loved taking his beloved German Shorthair Pointers Sally and Charlie out to bird hunt with him.
Ben met Megan Haag and with her four kiddos, Stormee, Michael, Dominic and Dean, Ben and Megan had a family of their own. Ben was the biggest cheerleader for his kiddos, niece and nephews. He loved being involved with everything they did. He was known for caring for his family, whether it was checking on mom Joyce, by calling or stopping by, by calling his nephews to set up a hunt of some kind, setting a tee time or just random calls to his brothers to talk, with no purpose but to connect. Ben dearly loved his family, and they all loved him in return.
He was an avid sports fan of all kinds, from going to Lincoln Stars Hockey or to the Huskers football, basketball or baseball. He recently went to Oklahoma City to cheer on the Husker basketball team making history with a good friend. He always loved the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs. He could remember statistics from every game. His friendships were always very important to him. He had a great sense of humor and would do anything for anyone who needed help.
The world became a much sadder place when God called Ben home unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 having reached the earthly age of 39 years. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him, and he will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his mother Joyce Leuenberger of Tecumseh, brothers Joe Leuenberger and wife Kris of Waverly and Christian Leuenberger and wife Heather of Cook, nephews, Cole, Alex and Jackson and niece Megan, “wife” Megan Haag and children Stormee, Michael, Dominic and Dean of Otoe, aunts, uncles, cousins, Megan’s parents, Russ and Sam Haag and many, many friends.
Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Irene Leuenberger and William and Hilda Benjamin and his father Bob Leuenberger (March 12, 2016.)
